This Senior Finance role is responsible for directing and executing expert business partnering support to divisional and cost centre management. The position is critical in ensuring the organisation's financial, operational, and clinical outcomes are enhanced through robust financial management and insightful analysis. Experience working in the Health industry is essentual for this role, with a focus on SAP S4Hana, journals, building b2b budgets and a management accountant background is highly desrible for the role. It will run on a six month initital contract initialy, with the option to go permanent after this period.
The incumbent manages the provision of high-level support concerning performance reporting, annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and detailed variance analysis. This includes advising on available funding and other complex financial management issues. The role actively participates in regular monthly performance review meetings with Executive Directors and Senior Operational leadership teams to offer expert insight and analysis of financial and and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) performance, identifying key risks and opportunities for improvement.
A primary responsibility is managing the comprehensive budget build for the Communities and Research divisions. This involves ensuring that Finance Business Partners accurately prepare cost centre annual budgets, budget papers, and reports in strict accordance with prescribed corporate Budget Guidelines and timeframes. This role also manages the preparation of regular full year forecasts for these divisions, identifying potential differences compared to annual budget targets. This forecasting activity is crucial for informing key senior stakeholders of expected financial risks and for developing recommendations to enhance financial performance and maintain overall budget integrity.
The position maintains close oversight of all Service Level Agreement divisional recurrent and non-current funding arrangements. This encompasses various funding streams, including activity-based funding (ABF) and ensuring that the correct accounting treatments are consistently applied. The role requires close collaboration with Research and Clinical Trials leadership teams to ensure the organisation maximises research and clinical trial revenue while adhering to robust governance and financial management processes.
The manager proactively leads division-wide analysis of key financial and FTE trends and variances, sharing critical insights among operational leadership teams and finance leads. The role supports senior Communities and Research leaders with identifying, quantifying, and tracking sustainability initiatives to contribute to the organisation’s Sustainable Care Program.
The manager actively contributes to the support, mentoring, and coaching of the Financial Performance team to build capability and encourage high performance. The position is expected to contribute to a positive finance culture that recognises achievement, builds leadership capabilities, and supports staff health and wellbeing. Furthermore, the incumbent must actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
